What You Need to Know About First Date Conversation

First Date ConversationFirst Date Conversation

Have you ever been on a date where you simply didn’t know what to say or when you did talk she just wasn’t interested? You’re not alone. The key to a great first date isn’t about what you do or where you go, it’s the first date conversation and that is what this article is going to address. Specifically we’ll discuss why you should avoid the boring interview type questions, let her do most of the talking and make it mostly about her and how to make it a fun and enjoyable conversation.

Avoid The Standard Interview Type Questions

By all means you should be trying to get to know her but you don’t need to know everything. Where she went to school, how many sisters she has and what her favorite color is are unimportant and something you don’t need to be talking about…unless she brings it up first. The reasons these types of questions don’t work well for first date conversation is because they’re fact based and lack emotional impact or excitement. You will learn these things about her gradually over time anyway, for now you should only be trying to get her invested into the conversation and the best way to do that is by letting her talk.

Shut Up and Let Her Talk

Some guys simply talk too much and never let her get a word in. Don’t do this, by all means guide the conversation but know when to shut up. When she’s talking, pay attention to what she says and you’ll know what to say next. If there are awkward silences, it’s because you were nervous and not paying enough attention.

Talk About Her, Not You

What’s everyone’s favorite topic? Themselves. There is nothing more interesting to her than herself. Ask her what she is passionate about, her ideal holiday destination or the craziest place she has had sex. A side bonus to this is that by not revealing too much about yourself it allows you maintain an air of mystery which women are naturally drawn to. You also won’t appear to be trying to win her over by talking about your car, job or how much money you make.

Make First Date Conversation Fun

It’s okay to ask stupid questions of give stupid answers. Your motto should be ‘no boring topics allowed’, if she asks you what your favorite number is, refer back to the motto and tell her to be more creative. She will accept the challenge and probably ask you something ridiculous; your answer should be as equally ridiculous. Now you’re having a fun conversation.
As you can see the first date conversation should always be fun so remember not to take it too seriously and enjoy the experience. The first date conversation and how well you got along usually dictates your future together so don’t put too much emphasis on trying to get to know her and stop taking it so seriously. She’ll enjoy the first date conversation and thank you for it later.
